In the Hood

We decided to beat the heat today and headed off to Mt. Hood with some friends.  It's unbelievable that people are still skiing, snowboarding and snowball fighting
up there in mid-summer; that some of the 21 feet of winter snow still exists.

Tim was wondering what I did with my sketchbook.

This is Tim.

We were about 8,000 feet up the side of the 11,000 foot summit of Mt. Hood when this photo of Mt. Jefferson was taken.

Finally stopped here at Timberline Lodge, built in the 1930s, for lunch & then headed back to Portland with full stomachs and great memories.

  2. It was a fun field trip. Friends drove and treated us with the lift tickets. Photos don't do the views justice.
