Bird Dog

Bird Dog - Watercolor Batik - 12X16 - Sold

A few more paintings for the studio show are in progress because replacements are needed for pieces that have sold.

I went through some old smaller challenge batiks - the ones that I thought would look better a little larger.  "Bird Dog" seemed like a good place to start.

This guy reminds me of my dog Cobie only I could never get Cobie to pose with anything that resembled something to eat.  He's pretty food motivated, to say it nicely.

    1. There's just something about a lab, Helen. So sorry you lost yours - ouch! I still think of the one I lost 21 years ago. My current lab is 11 now, and he's like a bull in a china shop - only sweet. Thanks for the comment, Helen.

  15. Chris, this painting is wonderful and it works on so many levels. The colours you've used are beautiful and harmonious and the composition of the dog, the duck and in total is superb. The expression in his eyes is so noble and victorious and even the poor duck seems resigned to its fate. His 'chops' are done so well; basically, I love this!
