Thinking Spring

Tulips - Watercolor / 9X16 - NFS

The Coulter easel has been located, but I'm either too busy or too tired to paint.    Here, then, is an old
watercolor sketch.

This Friday is the new deadline for having the bathrooms finished.  Things always seem to take twice as long as planned around here, but it's still fun whipping our sweet 70's house back in shape.

No snow here in Portland. We live in a temperate rain forest, so our winters are really fresh and really green. Everything is covered in lime green moss. It's really pretty. We might get one snowfall every couple of years.

  30. Think Spring - Watercolor is the thinking artist's secret. When one let's the water, color and gravity mix the final result ... the artist gets to take all the credit. And that's why we paint in watercolor. It's a sign of genius to let go have providence take the lead. Kudos.

    1. I LOVE your comment, Elizabeth! Watercolor artist Nita Engle says the same thing. She refuses to take credit for almost anything about her paintings ("I didn't do that! The paint did that!!). Watercolor is the best kept secret!
