|Watercolor - 7X5|
One of my former watercolor teachers adopted a new teaching strategy one day after commenting that her students' artwork was getting a little tight.
She replaced our pencils with waterproof Sharpies, grabbed a timer, and told us we had 30 seconds to put down a few lines prior to painting. As we got better, the time decreased to 15 seconds per drawing.
We did timed warm-up exercises of simple drawings for the first half hour of every class, and eventually overcame the fear of the dreaded timer. In fact, I have forgotten how much fun the exercises were until now.
I did a second little painting today, but it was quite stinky & went onto the other pile.
