The Fifties

Arthur Fonzarelli and Richie Cunningham / Happy Days / WikiCommons

Yes, I was around in the 50s.  Unfortunately, I don't have a great recollection of that decade - mainly memories of a few friends in our Detroit neighborhood.   I think watching the old tv show "Happy Days" has taught me more about that era than what is in my memory banks.

I have listened to most of the music, though.  This is one of my favorites.

  1. I was around in the fifties, too. I love Elvis. I love Henry Winkler and Ron Howard. I especially admire how well such a little boy could act when Ron Howard played Opie. Nice memories.

  4. Thank you, Linda. It was fun wondering what song to choose.
I still feel as young as that 22 year old Elvis - in my mind, that is. Not my body.

  5. Oh I do love Elvis!! Great memories, Chris. I loved Happy Days when it was on. I was born in '59 so don't remember any of it but grew up listening to some of the music because my mom liked it. My dad liked more of the Motown and Vietnam era music. I am so loving what you are doing with your blog and your art.

    1. Thanks, Sherry. The blog is different now because we are in a small rental while looking for a house with some studio space. There is only room for doing smaller things here, but it's turning out to be fun.
Your dad liked Motown - that's what the 60's theme is. I grew up in Detroit & that's about all they played on the radio.
And I LOVE your latest piece - FRAME IT!

    1. I don't remember a lot about his music, but I watched reruns of his movies. He was a pretty popular guy.

    1. Thanks, Jennifer. Yes, he was pretty hot - especially with those moves for the times. I was surprised he was 22, also.
