The 90's

Little Marian - 7X5 / Watercolor (almost done)

I'm kind of embarrassed to admit that I never liked much of the music of the 90's.  That said, I did (& still do) love the raspy voice of Canadian singer Bryan Adams.  One of my favorite songs of his is Everything I Do from the movie Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves, 1991.

From 1996 concert

FYI Artist's Note:  Regarding these little square record "posters,"  I would not do the "cut & paste" method again.  It was fun, but a digital paint program would look more professional & is something I'd like to get acquainted with.

  1. Oh! what a coincidence, most of the Indian movies in 90's were so crappy and very formula types! and I love this sing and esp 'Summer of 69' Adams is such an awesome singer!

    1. Yup, we are from very different generations.
But Bryan Adams - he is a BIG exception. Love him! I even went to see the animated movie "Spirit" just to hear him sing.

  6. Oh I do love this portrait! She is adorable and since I had a little redhead (and now two more from her), I am in love! Love the little record cover piece, despite the issues you mentioned. Perfect representation.

  13. So nice to see and hear the young and sweet Brian Adams in Wembly! He is one of the musicians I would have liked to see live in a concert, but unfortunately I did'nt, he was not often in Germany ...
... and your watercolor is so extraordinarily sensitive again!

  15. Jim (my husband) thinks that I slept through the 90's. However, I do know who Bryan Adams is and really like his music - especially the song from Don Juan de Marco (I loved that movie, too, and it was from the 90's. So there, Jim!) Great music and Little Marian is darling!

  16. I think the portrait is painted wonderful - especially the eyes.
But for some reasons - I don't know why - the expression of this makes me feel sad.
I think that's another sign that your painting is great, because it does something
with me as a viewer - although I don't like to feel sad.
    I hope this is understandable….

  17. Thank you. I do understand what you are saying, Beo.
It is just what you "see" in the painting; it's
how you relate to it based on your life experience. I react to most paintings with emotion, too.

  19. for me, the eyes have a hidden twinkle, as though the child has a little secret or something funny to share with the viewer.
    A very sensitive painting.
