Brown-Eyed Girl

Brown-Eyed Girl / Watercolor Batik / 8X8

A fun video featuring a talented brown-eyed girl with a guy who knows how to dance:

 . . . . . . .

I've signed up for an online class taught by Roxanne Evans Stout called Book of Trees.  Roxanne has a lovely soft, organic aesthetic.
Only half-way through watching the videos, I'm really looking forward to making this book ( & buying more art supplies for the class).

  1. This is wonderful, Chris!! I love it! And I'm sure you are more than happy to be able
to do your great pictures now since you have a place for that (again)
    I can't stop watching it....

Thanks for the video! When I look at it I get in a good mood.
The workshops sounds interesting (I followed the links) and I very curious what you will do.
I hope you will show that.

    1. Thanks, Beate! I really like the video, too.
And yes, I will show my book - good or not. It will take time to get through the videos and then rewatch them once I get all of the supplies. Everything in the videos is about doing one layer at a time which is good for people like me.

  6. What a beautifully expressive face our Brown-Eyed girl has. Your technique is beautiful.
I watched the video, and liked it because the song is great but thought he was jerky...slinging Julia around a bit too much - I like 'em treating women smoothly!
I bet I didn't feel that way when I was younger though.
I checked out Roxanne's page and was very impressed. Lucky you. Can't wait to see what you do.

I would not have minded being swung around by that cute guy when I was much younger either.

I love, love, love the lost and found edges of your Brown Eyed Girl and the limited palette. I wonder what she is thinking...

  9. Lovely batik - it really doesn't have the hard-edged batik look but is softer, which works well with the portrait. Well done. Now I've got that song in my head! ha ha
