  12. Have you ever shared some of your technique, how you achieve such awesome looking batiks on rice paper with watercolor? They are so wonderfully interesting. You always get the eyes so perfect! Love the quote, so true! Have a great New Year and sending my best wishes for a happy healthy- art productive year!

    2. Wow - thanks - I really loved reading about it, have done some cloth batiking back in the day, but love this way to do it. And wouldn't you know it in my move, gave away my electric fry pan. One of these days I am going to try this though and I know just where to go to get the details. Very well written and you give great encouragement!

  14. So lovely! I have a fondness for lions. We had a feral cat that I named 'Lion.' He was regal in his self-confidence, and as aloof as can be. I never got to touch him. But in his way he trusted me. He left us this past June-I have to assume he passed away, since he loved our food for him.
Your art is very heart-touching. That's when you know it's working...

I'm glad you mentioned Lion. You added so much to his life. It must have been reassuring for him that he could count on you for a yummy meal. I'm sure God noticed your kindness...

  16. Thank you, Carol. I have seen emblems and statues of lions all over Jerusalem, but only in photographs. Someday I would like to see them for myself.

  19. Fantastic!! If I think away the eyes and the mouth, I never would see a lion in this picture. But with "only" two fascinating eyes and a mouth you brought so much life into this lion face!! Your Watercolor Batik is gorgeous!
Wish you a happy year 2018! Rike xx
