Day 100

Rain gear for Cobie's bandages:  a poop bag, a slap bracelet and washi tape.

Cobie has had a rough week with visits to the veterinarian, sometimes every day, to have his bandage changed.  His vet was unable to suture the surgical wound completely closed, so it has to be professionally dressed.   It's been very traumatic for him, but he has stopped limping and everyone is happy about that.  We're hoping the bandages come off next week.
. . . . .

In the meantime, I received an order of black glossy card stock.  Beautiful alcohol ink art has been done on this paper, but I still can't figure out exactly how to do what I want to do.

Below:
alcohol ink background on black card stock for mixed media (did lots of these), white ink on black card stock, watercolor on photo paper (the flip side)

Also, over the weekend, I received the final two postcards from Liberate Your Art swap members.

Below:  from artist Madeleine Jones

Below: from photographer and Liberate Your Art host Kat Sloma

Today, April 10, is the 100th day of the year 2018.
Where did those days go?

    1. Thanks, Zaa. Hope to get good news from the vet today.
Yes, the experiments are fun. We got lots of photograph paper at an estate sale, so I've been wondering what to do with it.
      Enjoy your week, too!!

Incredible talents in all types of artwork. Am still waiting for 2 more postcards to come, one + Kat's and then I will set up a blog post. Have a wonderful day. oxo, Louise.

  6. York work is amazing Chris!!!! And I'm so happy that Cobie is feeling better... I just took my Cali to the vet yesterday...they gave her a distemper shot...she screamed (poor baby) and limped for a day but she's fine now...I think she limped to get that extra biscuit...

  11. Cobie looks a little sad in this photo, he also wants the bandage to disappear. But how good to hear that he no longer limps.
The large black glossypaper looks great - a wonderful background... I wonder what else you'll show when you've done more experiments with the alcohol inks.

  12. Poor Cobie! Hopefully the bandage can come off soon. You must be stressed out, knowing that Cobie has such a hard time.
I love your sea horse and the Art Nouveau style leaves and the alcohol inks on black are great as well, Chris!

  14. I am sure Cobie will fine! They, dogs, have great resistance. Those small pieces look interesting. Haven't tried inks at all. The bottom one looks the most interesting.

  17. Glad Cobie is on the mend and I'm sure being a lab he will be able to 'milk' all the sympathy that he is getting for a while longer ;o) a gentle scratch behind the ears from me...and a stern finger wag for worrying his mama so much.

Alcohol inks sound very tricky to me but you are making them look effortless.

    1. Thank you, Lisa. Yes, Cobie knows how to milk it, for sure! And the inks are fun.

  18. Dear Chris - it looks like Cobie is doing well. It is a challenge to care for a wound such as his...I had a German Shepherd Sammy who I took everyday to the vet for her wound to be dressed...so I get it friend. Looks like you are having some fun with those cards. Hope you have a great weekend. Hugs!

    1. Thank you, Debbie. Everyday had to be tough on you and Sammy. Cobie goes every other day. Thankfully, we have a ramp made for canines that he uses to get into the car.
And the cards were lots of fun.
Hope you have a great weekend, too!
