Sketchbook Revival

A weekend of weed pulling was just what the garden needed.

And since Cobie is better now, Tim and I got a chance to leave the house together and go to a few estate sales over the weekend.

Always on the lookout for art / drafting supplies, we picked up a few things:

 Got up yesterday morning, though, with an awful cold. Thanks to watercolor artist Rhonda Carpenter mentioning a free video course on her blog,  I spent much of the day watching a series called Sketchbook Revival.

It is an online workshop featuring drawing / journaling videos from two dozen artists.

Although the workshop officially runs from April 23 through May 4, the videos will remain available to everyone who registers until May 18th.

Thank you, Rhonda.

  1. That's quite a haul, love estate sales although I should be doing more decluttering really.

    1. It's so hit or miss at the sales, but this one was not bad! I declutter most everything except art supplies.

    1. Hilda, I agree with you. You can never hoard enough art supplies. Fifty percent off? Oh, my gosh. I'd still be there filling up the cart. You can't even get 50% off at the local craft store with a coupon! Good for you!!

    1. Am feeling much better, Debra. Thanks!
      Sometimes you find it where you least expect it. My house is pretty minimalist inside except for the room used for doing art. Looks like a hoarder lives there - messy and piled high. If you don't have the floor space, just go vertical :}

  7. Nice art books Chris.
    I have not yet tried paper for markers and the translucent one is very intruiging.
    Good to hear Cobie well again and I hope you are feeling better soon too.

    1. Thank you, Gill. Cobie is doing well, but needs to build up some muscle after being sedentary for a month. He's a trooper, though.
      And yes, this is just more art stuff - like I don't have enough. I don't even know how to use half of it yet.
