These three paintings are based on challenge prompts.

My 14 year old puppy is a little under the weather today.
Off to the vet.

Back from vet.  Cobie is okay.
He is just old....

  4. Wow - those cherries made me want some!Like NOW, they are so sweet and juicy looking.
    Pineapple and strawberries are good too but, WOW, those cherries!!!

    I love this "Doodlewashes" I'll look up the word...
    But they are great whatever they are called.
    It's magnificant to see where you put some more of the colour, or less or almost none
    Can you "see" where you have to do what or do you feel it?

      The color is placed just here and there - wherever you feel it. For the first layers of watercolor on all three pieces, I wet the paper, painted color, then sprayed the color with water to make the color run. When the paper was dry, I resprayed it with plain water and reapplied color, but did not let the color run too much.

  6. These are absolutely magical, Chris. I cannot begin to imagine how you make the fruit realistic and yet paint it in this way. I love these.

  17. Your watercolors are amazing! I admire your leaves on the Pineapple and this special red color on the cherries!
    So glad that Cobie is okay - to become older is sometimes not funny, I know :)

  18. Oh, these are gorgeous! Love the cherries because they actually make my mouth water but doing that pineapple was not easy - you’ve captured all of these with just enough color and value and softness. I could see any of these framed and hanging in a kitchen or dining room :). Glad Cobie is okay (ah, we all are getting “just old”!!)
